The New Building Project: Work Progress

  Work is underway on the external and internal finishing of the new building of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) in the Al-Tira neighbourhood, Ramallah. Work has started to install metal beams on the outer facades of the building.   80% of stone slabs on outer walls have been installed. 90% of the work involving the installation of glass and aluminium panels has been completed.

A delegation of the German Agency for International Cooperation visits the A. M. Qattan Foundation

On Monday morning, 21 August 2017, a delegation of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) visited the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF).   The GIZ delegation included Charlotte Borough, Programme Coordinator in the Middle East and South Africa Region, Inken Wiese, GIZ external Consultant, and Safa al-Nasser, Regional Consultant for the Cooperation Programme with Arab Donors.   ...more

A Delegation of the Open Society Foundations Visits the A. M. Qattan Foundation

  A delegation of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) visited the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) at its main office in Ramallah. The OSF delegation met with AMQF Director General Ziad Khalaf.   Khalaf briefed the OSF delegation about the AMQF activities and programmes. The OSF delegation also visited the Science Studio, a project of the AMQF Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP), at the Ramallah Recreational Complex.   ...more

Jenin: Inaugurating El Che, Endless Reader, a Photo Exhibition, at the Arab American University

  On Monday, 14 August 2017, the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) inaugurated El Che, Endless Reader, a photo exhibition, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts at the Arab American University, Jenin. Opened until 24 August 2017, the exhibition was organised in the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences building on the university campus.   ...more

Jerash: The A. M. Qattan Foundation Concludes Edition 11 of the Summer School: Drama in Education

  On Saturday, 29 July 2017, the Summer School: Drama in Education was concluded. For the 11th year, the Summer School has been organised by the Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) in the Jordanian city of Jerash. In addition to teaching staff from Palestine, Britain, Greece and Australia, 92 teachers from Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Lebanon participated in this year’s edition of the Summer School.   ...more

Gaza: A Tinkering, Science and Arts Workshop

  The Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) organised a three-day workshop via videoconference between Ramallah and Gaza. Supervised by Samar Kirresh, Senior Researcher at the ERDP Science Studio, the workshop brought together teachers involved in the Professional Development Programme in Gaza.    ...more

Gaza: Reflective Meetings on the Employment of Drama in Education

  The Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP)/AMQF, has recently held a series of reflective meetings for teachers in the ERDP Drama in Education Summer School. The meetings aimed to reflect upon the educational practices of the participating teachers, as well as their Drama in Education practices with their students in school.   The meetings were developed by the teachers Abeer Madhoun, Maysara Abu Shueib, Shayma Al-Dadda, Mir’ei Bashir and Issam Yousef, assisted by researchers from ERDP.     ...more

Gaza: CCG Children Conclude the Beit Byout Summer 2017 Activities

  The Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) concluded Summer 2017 events. Titled Beit Byout (playing house), Summer 2017 activities were designed to create an enabling and supportive environment for children and contribute to providing spaces for innovation and creation during the summer break.   ...more

Gaza: The Child Centre Concludes Training for Early Childhood Professionals

  The Child Centre-Gaza/AMQF recently concluded a training course for early childhood professionals titled, “Academic Planning for Kindergartens”. 30 early childhood teachers participated at the training, which focused on a number of subjects: understanding the concept of planning, developing teacher action plans based on SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats), building Smart Objectives, and determining obstacles facing kindergarten teachers during plan development.  ...more

Gaza: For the First Time, CCG Organises a Chess Tournament in Cooperation with the Palestine Chess Federation

  The Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) organised the first chess tournament in cooperation with the Palestine Chess Federation. Launched at the CCG building on 19 August 2017, the tournament brought together 62 male and female children, aged 9 to 15 years.   At the end of the chess tournament, results were announced in the presence of the participating children and their parents. Certificates were distributed to all participants. Cups, medals and chessboards were awarded to the five winners.   ...more

“Picnic” Project … Music and Narratives About Ramallah in the Public Space

  Picnic in the heart of Ramallah, namely on the Bint Jubeil Street, was organised by the Public Programme of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) in partnership with the Ramallah Municipality. Produced in the context of Wein A Ramallah Festival, Picnic engaged a group of narrators in the Narratives Collective as well as a number of musicians, including Shadi Zaqtan and Nour al-Ra’i, with visitors and residents of Ramallah, who told stories about their relationship with the city.   ...more

Ramallah: Artist Rakowitz Presents a Several of His Projects and Experiences in a Seminar

  In a one-hour lecture organised by the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) in Ramallah, renowned artist Michael Rakowitz took his audience on a journey between different cities, which were the hub of his art projects and works. Most of Rakowitz’s projects and works deal directly with people and address a variety of political and social themes.   ...more
