New Building Project: On Site Progress

  Construction work and infrastructure installation continue in AM Qattan Foundation new building project in Al-Tira – Ramallah, where installation of the Palestinian Tarqumiya stone on the building is on-going, as well as the gypsum partitions and aluminum and glass walls. The transparent glass allows 60% of the light, and filtrates 28% of the harmful solar radiation.

The International Academy of Art Palestine and First Ramallah Group Honour the AMQF and its DG Ziad Khalaf

  The International Academy of Art Palestine honoured the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) in recognition of its pivotal role in supporting academic efforts in the fields of art and culture. The Consul General of France Visits AMQF

  Mr. Pierre Cochard, the Consul General of France, and Mr. Bastian Ghoselr, Assistant to the Consul General, paid a visit to The A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. Launching The Lady’s Coat by Mays Dagher, Blind Dogs in a Picnic by Omar Ziyadah and Wheat in Cotton by Jadal Qasem

  The Lady’s Coat In a ceremony held at the Mahmoud Darwish Museum on Wednesday, 12 April 2017, Mays Dagher released her The Lady’s Coat, a collection that won the first award at the 2015 Young Writers Competition, organised by the A. M. Qattan Foundation. Mrs. Hanadah Kharmah, Professor of Philosophy at the Birzeit University, introduced The Lady’s Coat. ...more

Educational Research and Development Programme

Science Studio starts operation at the Ramallah Recreational Complex

  The Science Studio team at the Educational Research and Development Programme of the A. M. Qattan Foundation has recently launched its work at the Science Studio at the Ramallah Recreational Complex. Covering a surface area of 500 metres, the Science Studio was inaugurated after an official memorandum of understanding had been signed with the Ramallah Municipality last March.   ...more

Palestinian and International Films Screened at the Teacher Centre - Ni’lin

  At the Young Filmmakers Festival in Ni’lin, social and cultural issues were raised in films made by young people. Films were screened to an audience of female and male youth, students, mothers, members of the local community and institutions.   ...more

Telling One’s Story: A Workshop on Writing Practice and Techniques

  “I wrote a beautiful sentence on the blackboard, but the teacher punished me by making me erase it with my bare hands,” lamented Bissan Abed, one of the kindergarten teachers that took part in a workshop on the practice of self-writing in a professional context. She added, “That was my first experience with writing and education - and certainly perseverance as well”.   ...more

CCG Organises Film Screenings For Adults and Children

  “I have learned a very important secret: Be simple and avoid complication. You can be good at animation by the most simple tools you have at your disposal. In the workshop, I learned that all the people who were creative and mesmerised us started off from simple, but practical, ideas. Today, we have applied this by ourselves.”   ...more

Gaza: Qattan Children Help Implement Initiative for Visually Impaired Children

  “I dream of studying law at the university, so I can become a lawyer, achieve greater social justice and defend the rights of blind people,” said Dalia Ayman Hajjaj (11 years old) expressing her  hopes for the future. Hajjaj, who had lost her sight at an early age, but never her passion for life, has participated at the recently held event “From a Seeing Child to a Blind Child” – an initiative organized by the AMQF Child Center in Gaza on April 3, 2017.   ...more

Gaza: CCG Re-Launches Improved Education Project

  The Child Center-Gaza/AMQF, with co-financing from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), has recently re-launched its Improved Education Project for the seventh year in a row. The project is implemented in five public elementary schools across both the Gaza and the Deir al-Balah governorates, and aims to enhance the role of parents as the first educators of their children and improve their communication with their children’s schools.   ...more
