New Building Project: Work Progress

  Work is underway on the external finishing of the new building of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) in the Al-Tira neighbourhood, Ramallah. Aluminium beams were installed around the main building. Glass panels were fixed on the northern and southern facades. Work is underway to install stone slabs on outer walls and prepare the car entrance.

/si:n/ Festival For Video Art and Performance 5th Edition 12-15 June 2017

For its fifth edition, the 2017 /si:n/ festival for video art and performance will run for four days, from june 12th-15th. Events will take place in the central Palestinian cities of Jerusalem, Gaza, Bethlehem and Ramallah. A selection of video art installations, performances and film screenings by noted local and international artists will be exhibited in multiple venues and connected through organized tours of cityscapes in the four localities.   ...more

"Recollection" Premiered in Palestine .. A Visual Journey into the Memory of Jaffa City

  In 70 minutes, Recollection (2015) took the audience on a journey through time to the Jaffa city of the 1960s and 1980s. Recollection is a film by Palestinian director Kamal al-Ja’fari.   ...more

Gossip TV … An Online Live Broadcast of a Different Content

  Over three days of the 5th edition of /si:n/ Festival for Video Art and Performance, the Gossip TV collective presented a live YouTube stream on a large screen at the Ottoman Court building in the old city of Ramallah. The content combined poetry readings, comic news, a variety of dialogues, music and experimental video.   ...more

Lurking Green… A video Art Research on the Rose-ringed Parakeet in the Context of /si:n/ Festival

  The rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri) was the theme of the art video installation Lurking Green. Over three days, 13-15 June 2017, the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) screened the video at the Al-Sa’ House (Beit il Saa’) in the old city of Ramallah. Lurking Green was exhibited in the context of /si:n/ Festival for Video Art and Performance. Filmmakers Ramzi Maqdisi and Najwa Mubarki implemented the idea of Curator Yazid Anani, Director of the AMQF Public Programme.   ...more

  30 works of art formed the first solo exhibition, titled  Herak (mobilization), by artist Marwan Nassar (32 years) from Gaza. The works were inspired by the various states of the human condition. They told tales of injustice, suffering, hope, ambition, dreams and more.     ...more

Gaza: CCG Launches Summer 2017 Activities

  The Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) launched Summer 2017 events, including cultural, artistic, scientific and technological activities, courses and programmes targeting both children and their parents.   Titled Beit Byout (Playing House), Summer 2017 events coincided with the school summer break. These were tailored to create cultural and intellectual spaces through activities, courses and programmes which provided an enabling environment for children during the summer break.   ...more

CCG Implements Several Artistic and Cultural Activities

  The Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) implemented a number of artistic and cultural activities in the context of the Beit Byout (Playing House) events of Summer 2017. Of particular note, children participated in the Decoration activity, where they created artistic forms out of simple materials. Children turned these forms into pieces of art, which they used to decorate their personal items.   ...more

CCG Children Participate in a Several Scientific and Technological Activities

  The Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) carried out a number of technological and scientific activities in the context of the Beit Byout (Playing House) events of Summer 2017.   Children participated in the technological activity, Rubik Challenge. "Gossip TV' at 57th Edition of Venice Biennale

  A pre-recording of Gossip TV was screened in the La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) - 57th International Art Exhibition. Gossip TV was part of Aleksandr Rodchenko’s artwork Workers’ Club at the V-A-C Foundation’s Space Force Construction, organised with the Art Institute of Chicago.   Venice Biennale is the most significant exhibition of contemporary art in the world.   ...more

Ramallah: Seminar Debating the "Daydream Silhouettes" Experience

  The AMQF Public Programme held a seminar on the Daydream Silhouettes performance, in cooperation with Gallery One and the Live Action Role Play Group (LARP). The performance had been developed by the Public Programme’s Groups Programme with an aim to raise a number of questions about  the art scene in Palestine.   ...more
