Ramallah, August 2026 – Please join us in welcoming Toleen Touq to the A.M. Qattan Foundation, where she will assume responsibility for the Foundation’s Cultural Programme, effective from the beginning of August 2026.
Touq brings extensive experience in curatorial practice, cultural programme development, and educational and research-based approaches to contemporary arts and culture. Her work has spanned a range of cultural institutions and initiatives across Palestine, the Arab region, and Canada. Her appointment is expected to contribute to the continued development of the Cultural Programme and the expansion of its scope and partnerships, and strengthen the Foundation’s role in supporting artists, cultural practitioners, and audiences in Palestine and the wider region.
In its new form, the Cultural Programme brings grants and direct support to artists, capacity building for cultural practitioners and institutions, community engagement, and curatorial work under one roof, following the merger of the Foundation’s grants and capacity-building unit with the former Public Programme.
About Toleen Touq Toleen
Touq is a curator and educator who has spent almost two decades developing cultural, artistic, and research programmes across Palestine, Jordan, and Canada, working with independent institutions, grassroots initiatives, and international platforms.
She is co-founding director of Spring Sessions, a collective learning and experiential residency program based in Jordan launched in 2014, whose most recent edition was hosted in Bethlehem in 2025 at The Wonder Cabinet. That year she also curated the interdisciplinary programme Palestine All the Time in Toronto and the listening series Notations for Living at Darat al Funun in Amman.
Between 2018 and 2022, she served as Artistic Director of SAVAC (South Asian Visual Arts Centre) in Toronto, where she oversaw programmes, exhibitions, and research and pedagogical initiatives. Her recent projects include the triennial exhibition GTA24 at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Toronto and film programming for the Images Festival, both in 2024. In 2027, she will curate the 20th edition of MOMENTA Biennale d’art contemporain in Montreal, titled The Long Now.
Touq’s writing and research have appeared in journals and specialised publications including Asian Diasporic Visual Cultures and the Americas, Ibraaz, Sternberg Press, A Prior, and Manifesta Journal. She holds an MA in Cultural Studies from Queen’s University in Canada, where her research examined artist residencies and gathering spaces as sites shared, self-determined time.
